Clermont Family Eyecare is on a mission to be green and environmentally friendly. We feel that it is our responsibility to keep the earth clean. Since 2016, our medical records are electronic and our intake forms are reusable which saves on paper waste.
Our newest endeavor is recycling contact lenses and its container with Bausch+Lomb ONE by ONE Biotrue Recycling Program. Just bring in your contact lens materials and we will do the rest. The details of the program are listed below.
Program accepted waste: Biotrue® ONEday brand contact lenses and blister packs, as well as other Bausch + Lomb brand contact lenses and blister packs. We will also accept contact lenses and blister packs from all brands.
To recycle this waste stream properly, please do not include any Biotrue® ONEday or other Bausch + Lomb brand cardboard boxes in your collections, as these are recyclable through your regular municipal recycling service.
Once received, the contact lenses and blister packs are separated by composition and cleaned. The metal layers of the blister packs are recycled separately, while the contact lenses and plastic blister pack components are melted into plastic that can be remolded to make recycled products.
